Synopsis |
There must more to life than this! But what? I began asking myself this question seriously, (as I am sure many of you have), several years ago. Until then I had been relentlessly pursuing a life of material wealth (as I am sure many of you are) with some degree of success. I had gotten where I wanted to be. I had the large house, the expensive car, the impressive bank balance, and the six-figure income. I was not unhappy but I was unfulfilled. There was a nagging feeling that there was something missing. An illness and a spell in hospital, brought on by stress was the catalyst for reflection and then for change. Since then, I have searched for the answers. I now know that an abundant, fulfilled life is available to us all, and that it has little to do with material possessions. This book tells you what I have learned. |

Excerpts from the Book |
Your inner self – the real youHave you ever noticed how sometimes things just roll along, everything works out, like clockwork? As if there was some unseen conductor orchestrating the events in your life? And have you ever noticed how at other times (almost all of the time I hear you say) nothing seems to go right? Problem after problem, frustrations, no progress, going round in circles. That sinking feeling? Have you ever wondered why? Would you like to know the answer? It's simple. When you feel that you are trapped, nothing is moving, you are stagnating, that however hard you try, you can't make things be the way you want, you are struggling against your real self. Somewhere deep inside of you, there is a part of you that knows exactly who you really are, what you should do, what is right for you. A part of you that only ever acts in your best interests, for your highest good. I am not going to label it, but I am sure that at some time in your life you have sensed that it is there. You know it is there. Call it what you will, it doesn't matter. There is a part of you that is not your brain, your mind, your body. There is something else. Something that you can't explain, something that you can only feel, only sense. This is the real you. This is your inner self. This is the part of you which is unconcerned with material wealth, possessions and power; unconcerned with winning and losing, with manipulating; unconcerned with vanity and the ego; unconcerned with fat and thin, black skin or white skin. This is the part of you, which is inherently peaceful, joyful, serene, loving, compassionate and wise. It is by rediscovering this part of you, and listening to it that you can cease struggling, fighting, imposing your will against the odds. By allowing this part of you to live and not be suppressed, you can change your life. When you follow your feelings, your intuition, your inner guidance, you are following the path of least resistance. It is on this path of least resistance that things begin to fall into place. You will discover that inner peace and contentment is available to you as well. You begin to live in harmony with those around you, and with the universe. You begin to be yourself, to live as you were intended to live. |

Compassion |
What is compassion, and what does it mean to be compassionate? Compassion is not to be confused with sympathy, or
pity. |
