Glastonbury. Site of the famous Glastonbury Tor, a single tower, perched high on a hill outside the town. Also known as St. Michael's tower, it is a crossing point of the Michael and
Mary lines, ley lines which criss-cross England. The Chalice Well is situated just outside the town in a small garden which radiates peace. The well is sacred and has never run dry. There is a strong energy at the well, and
the water, which turns the rocks over which it flows the colour of rusty metal, is reputed to have healing qualities.

Le Puy. One of the starting points for the pilgrimage to St.Jacques de Compostelle, Le Puy welcomes many pilgrims. The Cathedral of Notre Dame is highly venerated for its Black
Madonna statue. Peched high on 80-meter high crag of rock overlooking the town is the Chapel of St. Michael.This small, ancient stone building has a special energy which draws you into its dark interior.

Lourdes. Probably the most visited sacred site in Europe, if not the world, for Catholics. Sanctified as a place of many miracle healings after St. Bernadette had 18 apparitions of the Virgin Mary. A basilica has now been built directly above the grotto where the apparitions took place and millions come each year to bathe in the waters of the sacred spring in the hope of being healed. The energy of the Divine Mother is tangibly present.

Les St. Maries de la Mer. Situated in the Camargue, this seaside town houses a church which has existed since the 9th century. The two Mary's in question are supposed to have arrived here. with
Mary the mother of Christ, after the crucifixion, by boat. The Pigrimage of the Gypsies is held her every year on May 24 and 25.

Putthaparthi. The remote village of Putthaparthi, 70 kilometres north of Bangalore has been home to Sathya Sai Baba for many years. It welcomes pilgrims from all over the world
who come to his ashram for the twice daily Darshan.

abode of spirits, it has been a place of pilgrimage for many centuries.

Nantai San. A volcanic cone, over 2400 metres high and now extinct for many centuries, it iis one of the most sacred sites in Japan. Situated in Nikko National Park, amongst unspoilt
forests with many weterfalls and lakes, this is part of Japan's natural heritage. A successful climb to the summit, which is no mean accomplishment, to where the nature devas live, is said to reward the climber with
enhanced creative abilities.

Switzerland's greatest pilgrimage shrine. The water which flows from the fountain outside is said to have healing qualities.

Harbin Hot Springs. Situated on the side of a mountain, Harbin is a sacred site of the American Indians. Developed on total harmony with Nature, the natural hot springs are a source of rejuvenation for all. They have invented their own form of massage called "Watsu" which takes place in the water of hot springs.
